Immersed in the mid-‘90s Miami electronic music scene, as a teenager, Argentine-born VJ Psyberpixie became fascinated with the rave culture. She studied at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, where she first adopted audio-visual equipment. Later came the decks and soon, Psyberpixie was simultaneously mixing flashes of hypnotic film clips, integrated with mesmerizing light shows, all synched up to the thumping beats that once abducted her soul as club kid on the warm sands of Miami Beach and Miami city lights.
Today, Psyberpixie has built a reputation for herself as one of the industry’s leading female VJs both in the United States and internationally. Developing her craft throughout the past eight years, she continues to progress her talents with the evolution of technology and electronic music. In 2004, Psyberpixie was recruited as the Visual Coordinator for the prestigious ULTRA Music Festival, where she began designing stage sets and booking unique VJs to share with attendees from around the globe.
She’s shared the stage with a variety of DJs and live acts in the music industry, including main players like Moby, Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Sasha and Infected Mushroom. Never afraid to spread her spell into unfamiliar waters, Psyberpixie has also worked with jazz, soul and funk artists like Harry Waters, India Arie and George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic. Also entranced by Psyberpixie, Perry Farrell enlisted her as Jane’s Addiction’s Live Visual Specialist on their NIN/JA 2009 Summer Tour. Her well-received tour stint led to a career highlight mixing the headlining Lollapalooza 2009 Jane’s Addiction set, where she induced an 80,000-person all-sensory mind warp.
Her technique with Jane’s Addiction caught the eye of famed bad boy rocker Tommy Lee, which led to the creation of custom visuals for his sets with DJ Aero. She also collaborated with Lee alongside international sensation Deadmau5, to produce “Party Instructions,” a visual music track off Methods of Mayhem’s most recent release PUBLIC DISSERVICEMENT ANNOUCEMENT.
